Chicago was selected as the U.S. bid to host the summer 2016 games.  In a pro bono effort for the bid, Hoerr Schaudt is collaborating with Ben Wood Studio and Goettsch Partners on the site design for an 80,000 seat Olympic Stadium that sits on Fredrick Law Olmsted’s historic Washington Park meadow space.  This “temporary” stadium will be transformed after the games, and the park will be revitalized with massive tree regeneration, new trails and improved public transportation to the neighborhood.
