October 10, 2019 - Hoerr Schaudt was honored to be a part of the team receiving the Friends of Downtown 2019 Best Open Space award. The award ceremony, held on October 9, 2019, celebrated the team effort of Hoerr Schaudt, Perkins and Will, and Wolff Landscape Architects in the creation of the new Southbank Riverwalk, part of a two-acre public green space along the South Branch of the Chicago River.
Southbank Park is an immediately iconic setting for Lendlease’s developing Southbank neighborhood, which will span across seven acres and several mixed-use towers in the South Loop. The park and riverwalk, master planned by Perkins and Will, designed by Hoerr Schaudt and implemented by Wolff Landscape Architecture, are a Chicago landmark in the making. The magnificent views and tangible historical references are set alongside a variety of public amenities and sustainable measures, creating a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors and residents.
