The 550,000 square foot redevelopment of the old Barbara Jordan Post Office will transform the area into a mixed-use development, while also honoring the mid-century, historical building with design inspiration from the work of Roberto Burle Marx. The rooftop will span five acres, including an event lawn, game areas, and outdoor dining. It will also be the site of the world’s largest urban rooftop farming operation, serving “roof-to-table” food for the festival food market on site. Hoerr Schaudt collaborates on the project with Lovett Commerical, OMA, and Powers Brown Architecture.
