Hoerr Schaudt envisioned the Tiffany Garden as a great civic space within Grant Park, framing the magnificent spectacle of Buckingham Fountain, Chicago’s second-most-visited attraction. The garden’s fluid, ceremonial promenade is bordered by serpentine garden beds alive with nearly 7000 blooming annuals and perennials, shaped evergreens, cascading vines, and flowering shrubs. The promenade opens into three intimate ‘rooms’ at the center, south, and north of the garden – spaces for important ceremonial events, or the simple pleasures of rest and contemplation.
